Switzerland hangs on to the top spot for the second year, while Croatia jumps from number 10 to

Silver Flower of Europe 2008 goes to Novi Vinodolski and Split

Split won the Silver Flower of Europe award among a competition of almost six thousand
candidates from twelve countries in the city category, while Novi Vinodolski has won the same
award in the town category. The closing ceremony of the Golden Flower of Europe, arranged
every year by the European Association for Flowers and Landscape, was held in Split, which was
an additional reason for celebration.

Croatia among top three outside the European Union travel destinations

Croatia is among top three tourist destination outside the European Union for EU residents this
year, according to a special report of Eurobarometer, the program of series of surveys regularly
performed on behalf of the European Commission.
According to the survey that the European Commissioner published last week, the most attractive
destinations are Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Greece and Great Britain.
The most attractive destinations outside the EU are the United States, Turkey and Croatia.
More Flights to Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik

In 2010 Split will be directly connected with 74 European destinations. This is a record number of
European cities from which travellers will be able to directly reach Split Airport – the largest airport
in the Adriatic. With all of the last year’s flights, 10 new destinations have been introduced to which
Split will be connected, including Paris, Rome, London – Stansted, Hannover, Lille, Manchester
and Basel. Split will be connected to 46 cities in 19 countries through regular air traffic, while
charter planes will connect Split to 28 cities in 12 countries and three domestic destinations.
Germanwings and Ryanair are also introducing new 2010 seasonal connections between the Zadar
Airport and Hannover, Oslo and Brussels, as well as keeping the all seasonal connections from last
year.
Do not forget to visit the National Parks Kornati and Krka that are located close to Vodice.
